Academic Year Recruitment Timeline:

April 8 – April 26: Applications Open (may close early due to applicant volume)  

Mid April – Late May: First round video interviews   

Early – Mid June: Second round interviews  

Late June – Early July: Selected candidates receive offers  

 

Job Description

Academic Year Internship Program: 

Applications Close: April 26th at 11:59pm ET. Pro Tip: Submit your application as soon as possible – applications could close earlier due to applicant volume!  

Program Dates: September 16, 2024 – April 18, 2025  

Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need.  We will do our best to accommodate course schedules. 

Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from Universal City, CA.

Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to: 

Web Strategy, CRO (Originals, and Sports): The Peacock Web Strategy & CRO team sits on the Product Marketing team and oversees all growth opportunities pertaining to Peacock’s website and mobile app stores. Web Strategy & CRO touches mostly every major cross-functional workstream at Peacock, including Brand Campaigns and Peacock Originals launches, as well as any/all SEO areas of opportunity that exist in our vast library of content.  

Audience Development, CRM (Telemundo): The TVE (TV Everywhere) Telemundo CRM Marketing Strategy program supports the development, execution, and optimization of Telemundo CRM campaigns. The ideal candidate will have an affinity for data and creative. They should be comfortable pulling reports and presenting data that would highlight opportunities for continued growth of the program. They should also be comfortable in assisting with campaign development and execution of Spanish-language CRM campaigns (email, in-app messages, push notifications).

Audience Development, CRM (Mobile): The Mobile team at Peacock oversees communication for all fans across various businesses within the NBCU portfolio on Peacock including Original series, documentaries, NBC News, Pictures, Sports, NBC next day primetime television, late night, and more. In Mobile Marketing, we explore the best ways to engage with fans via their mobile devices. The Mobile Marketing Intern will assist with marketing prioritization and end-to-end campaign management. The Mobile Marketing Intern will have the opportunity to learn the process of a Peacock mobile campaign from background research, asset planning to testing and data analysis. The Mobile Marketing Intern will also gain exposure to the overall Marketing strategy process in the streaming and entertainment industry. 

Audience Development, TVEverywhere: The Peacock Operations & Planning team serves as the backbone of our operations, collaborating closely with Audience Development teams to ensure the seamless delivery of top-notch messaging to our subscribers. This internship is a highly cross-functional role and will enable the opportunity to learn from the CRM, Audience & Insights, Promo, and Editorial teams and the various workflows the Ops & Planning team supports. 

 

Qualifications

Basic Requirements: 

Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2024 through April 2025). December 2024 graduates are not eligible for our 2024-2025 Academic Year Program. 

Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits). 

Must be authorized to work in the United States throughout the entire duration of the internship (September 2024 to April 2025). Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. 

Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 16, 2024 to April 18, 2025. 

Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA. 

Desired Characteristics: 

Students with class standing of junior or above preferred. 

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. 

Excellent organization, communication skills, and attention to detail. 

Strong writing and critical-thinking skills. 

Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook. 

Strong interest in marketing, advertising, and/or streaming. 

For Web Strategy, CRO: Experience working on/with Marketing concepts through past internships, schoolwork, and/or extracurricular activities; Interest in Films / NBCE Content, Web Strategy, and Conversion Rate Optimization as career focuses; Experience working in a CMS (e.g. Squarespace, WordPress, etc.) a plus (not mandatory). 

For Audience Development, CRM (Telemundo): Interest in the entertainment industry, especially Spanish-language entertainment; Ability to read, write and/or speak Spanish; Interest in data analysis; Experience with data reporting tools like Tableau, Domo, or Amplitude; Experience with project management tools like Airtable or Smartsheet; Interest in Marketing, particularly regarding CRM and/or Digital Marketing. 

For Audience Development, CRM (Mobile): Enthusiasm for Mobile Marketing. 

For Audience Development, TVEverywhere: Must be pursuing a Masters degree at an accredited university; Project Management experience, AirTable Experience, Digital marketing or digital marketing operations experience; Agency and/or entertainment experience a plus. 

The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $17.00 

The hourly rate for graduate student interns is $25.00 

 

INFORMATION FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ATTENDING U.S. UNIVERSITIES: 

To participate in NBCUniversal’s 2024-2025 Academic Year internship program, you must confirm at the time of interview that you will be able to provide US work authorization documentation for the entire duration of the internship. Since the NBCU Academic Year Internship Program spans the traditional “Fall” and “Spring” semesters, you should talk to the DSO at your school’s International Students Services Office about your need to apply for CPT work authorization twice to ensure you are authorized to work both semesters and throughout the entirety of the program. 

Please also note that future visa sponsorship at NBCUniversal is rarely available for post-grad employment opportunities.
