Academic Year Recruitment Timeline:

Job Description

Academic Year Internship Program:

Program Dates: September 16, 2024 – April 18, 2025  

Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need.  We will do our best to accommodate course schedules. 

Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from Playa Vista, CA.

Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to: 

Web Strategy, CRO (Films & NBC Entertainment): The Peacock Web Strategy & CRO team sits on the Product Marketing team and oversees all growth opportunities pertaining to Peacock’s website and mobile app stores. Web Strategy & CRO touches mostly every major cross-functional workstream at Peacock, including Brand Campaigns and Peacock Originals launches, as well as any/all SEO areas of opportunity that exist in our vast library of content.  

Virtual Channels: Working alongside the team’s Senior Director, Senior Managers and Associates, the Virtual Channels Intern will assist with the day-to-day workings of Peacock’s channel guide and individual channels, as well as the “art and science” of the decisions that go into strategy and tactics. Peacock’s Virtual Channels team leads the programming, scheduling, operations, and measurement of a fast-growing portfolio of 24/7 linear and on-demand video channels streaming an array of entertainment, news, and sports content. In developing lean-back program schedules that span Saturday Night Live, Dateline and the WWE, the team plays a key role in establishing Peacock’s leadership in the FAST (free ad-supported streaming TV) channel space. 

Audience Development, CRM (NBC): Overview of your group: The TVE (TV Everywhere) NBC CRM Marketing Strategy program supports all NBC branded shows as well as a variety of cross-company/Symphony priorities through email, push notifications, in-app/connected device messages and web push. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, process oriented, accountable, detail oriented, articulate, and comfortable in a fast-paced changing environment. In addition, the ideal candidate will be data-driven with a growth mindset & natural curiosity and will be comfortable in an A/B testing environment. This is a highly cross-functional role and will require the consummate team player to be successful. 

Audience Development, CRM (Entertainment Lifestyle Group): The intern will support ELG (Entertainment Lifestyle Group) Customer Relationship Marketing (CRM) campaigns across a variety of NBCU networks (Bravo, E!, Oxygen, SYFY, and USA). This includes hands-on execution of marketing campaigns spanning various channels (email, mobile push, mobile in app, connected device/TV in app, web push), partnering with Marketing Operations and Campaign Operations teams as well as cable brand partners. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, process oriented, accountable, detail oriented, articulate, and comfortable in a fast-paced changing environment. In addition, the ideal candidate will be data-driven with a growth mindset & natural curiosity and will be comfortable in an A/B testing environment. This is a highly cross-functional role and will require the consummate team player to be successful. 

Audience Development, TVEverywhere: The TVE CRM Intern will work at the intersection of digital marketing and technology. The TVE CRM Intern will support a variety of marketing channels for the NBCU networks (NBC, Bravo, Oxygen, E!, SYFY, USA, Telemundo). Additionally, the TVE CRM Intern will assist the CRM Manager in process development and documentation. The ideal candidate will be attentive to detail as they will be supporting a highly cross-functional team.   

Qualifications

Basic Requirements: 

Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2024 through April 2025). December 2024 graduates are not eligible for our 2024-2025 Academic Year Program. 

Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits). 

Must be authorized to work in the United States throughout the entire duration of the internship (September 2024 to April 2025). Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. 

Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 16, 2024 to April 18, 2025. 

Must be willing to work in Playa Vista, CA. 

Desired Characteristics: 

Students with class standing of junior or above preferred. 

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. 

Excellent organization, communication skills, and attention to detail. 

Strong writing and critical-thinking skills. 

Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook. 

For Web Strategy, CRO: Experience working on/with Marketing concepts through past internships, schoolwork, and/or extracurricular activities; Interest in Films / NBCE Content, Web Strategy, and Conversion Rate Optimization as career focuses; Experience working in a CMS (e.g. Squarespace, WordPress, etc.) a plus (not mandatory). 

For Virtual Channels: Experience working with content management systems (CMS); Experience curating content for a video service or website. 

For Audience Development, CRM: Comfortable working with data and pulling performance metrics from dashboards/reports; Interest in Marketing, particularly regarding CRM and/or Digital Product Marketing; Experience with AirTable, Branch, Iterable, and Tableau a plus. 

For Audience Development, TVEverywhere: Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and other coding languages; Previous experience setting up and deploying campaigns within a marketing platform (Iterable is a plus). 

The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $17.00 

The hourly rate for graduate student interns is $25.00 

 

INFORMATION FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ATTENDING U.S. UNIVERSITIES: 

To participate in NBCUniversal’s 2024-2025 Academic Year internship program, you must confirm at the time of interview that you will be able to provide US work authorization documentation for the entire duration of the internship. Since the NBCU Academic Year Internship Program spans the traditional “Fall” and “Spring” semesters, you should talk to the DSO at your school’s International Students Services Office about your need to apply for CPT work authorization twice to ensure you are authorized to work both semesters and throughout the entirety of the program. 

Please also note that future visa sponsorship at NBCUniversal is rarely available for post-grad employment opportunities.
