Performs diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures in a clinical setting. Operates conventional, fluoroscopic or radiology equipment to obtain images of designated body parts according to physician specifications and/or orders. Assists the physician with the performance of various diagnostic and interventional procedures, by monitoring, passing instruments and catheters, observing patient response to procedure, maintaining sterile field, interpreting and evaluating diagnostic data to be utilized by the physician. Supports the education, training and quality improvement process.
Qualifications
Education
Associates degree in radiologic technology, allied health, applied science or completion of certificate/training program is required.
Bachelor’s degree in allied health, applied/radiologic science or related field is preferred.
Experience
2 years of experience in interventional radiology or special procedures is required.
Certifications, Licenses and Registrations
Licensed Radiographer in the state of practice is required.
Certification as a Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography (RT(R)) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
