The Role

Working within the U.S. tax department of a large Canadian-based financial services company, the Tax Intern will work along other tax professionals in the U.S. Tax Operations Team.  The intern should have a working knowledge of accounting theory and principles as well as some U.S. income tax knowledge.  

 

Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

Assist in preparation of income tax workpapers for provision and compliance.

Research basic US tax theory.

Assist with completion of book/tax differences and may include deprecation

Assist with compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley internal control requirements.

Assist with reconcile tax accounts.

Assist in special projects as needed.

 

Your Skills

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

Proficient in Microsoft applications (e.g. Excel and Word)

 

The Candidate

Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university during the time of the internship (June 2024 - August 2024)

Pursuing a degree in Accounting or similar

Legally eligible to work in the United States

Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during internship session (June 2024 - August 2024)

 

Compensation for this role will be $20/hr.
