A. O. Smith Corporation, a global leader in water heating and water treatment solutions, is in search of a Human Resources Intern at our Nashville, TN location. The candidate will join the company’s Human Resources team on-site, assisting with efforts related to the company’s needs for HR, administrative, and additional support as needed to the on-site HR Manager. This is a part-time position (up to 30 hours/week).
Responsibilities
- Updating company databases by inputting new employee contact information and entering change requests
- Assist the HR staff in development and implementation of training program initiatives.
- Coordinating onboarding and offboarding activities for new hires
- Develop functional reports using Excel or HRIS software based on organizational needs
- Organize employee files and documentation to meet recordkeeping requirements
- Assisting in the planning of company events
- Assisting the HR staff in administrative duties.
- Responding to staff inquiries regarding HR policies, employee benefits, and other HR-related matters
Qualifications
- College junior or senior with a planned major in human resource management.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
- The ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Detail-oriented.
