Business Development Intern

The Business Development Intern will play a crucial role supporting the daily tasks of the BD team, will assist in identifying and researching potential clients, segmenting prospects and preparing for outreach campaigns.  The BD Intern will play a supportive role in ensuring the BD team has the right targets for their efforts.  This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in business development and relationship management.

Market Research: Conduct thorough research of the residential and commercial mortgage markets to identify potential business partners that would add value to the Planet’s ongoing initiatives.

Outreach and Communication: Assist in the preparation to initiate contact with potential partners through various channels, including in-person meetings, email, and phone calls. Craft compelling messages and presentations to communicate the benefits of the partnership.

 

Negotiation and Deal-Making: Work with Business Development Associate to develop proposals. Set and assist in the preparation for meetings with internal and external parties to negotiate terms and agreements that align with the interest of both parties.

Database Maintenance: Aid Business Development Associate with upkeep of Business Development databases. Help manage the CRM pipeline through updating key information, so the data is always up to date and complete. 

Conference Prep: Assist Business Development in strategic conference related activities. Conduct market research around potential opportunities in various markets and asset classes to identify top prospects at conferences, locally and nationally. Assist in keeping the conference calendar up to date and ensure all marketing materials are available for conference or networking related activity. 

Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams across all channels to execute partnership initiatives. Aid in Planet’s, Planet with a Purpose ESG platform to research, aid in planning and execute volunteer events for the Planet community.

 

Position Requirements

Education

Pursuing degree in marketing, communication, sales or a business-related field

Functional/Technical Skills

Self-starter with an upbeat, positive personality.

Must be self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Superior attention to detail
