Opto-Mechanical Engineer

optX imaging systems is an electro-optical and infrared (EO-IR) systems development company located in Northern Virginia specializing in novel design, prototyping, and production of custom, compact, lightweight, multi-spectral integrated EO-IR imaging solutions. optX is seeking qualified and motivated engineers for a technically challenging employment opportunity.

Opto-Mechanical Engineer 

Primary responsibilities include supporting research and development as well as system level requirements, specifications, assembly, and test procedures. Preferred candidates are self-driven objective/goal oriented individuals that effectively contribute in a technical team environment.  Candidates must be comfortable working in an innovative, fast-paced, R&D environment. 

Minimum Requirements:

• Knowledge of electro-mechanical components, technologies, and principles
• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Optical, Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering
• Must be a US citizen

Desired Skillsets:

• Experience in the fields of mechanics, optics, systems, materials, and electrical engineering.
• Experience with engineering and laboratory software packages including SolidWorks, ANSYS, Zemax, Code V, LabView, and/or MATLAB.

Experience with mechanical, optical, and/or electrical design, assembly, and test.
