Mechanical Engineer Intern

Position Overview: 

As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will spearhead efforts to ensure a safe working environment, optimize operational efficiency, and drive innovation. Your responsibilities include maintaining equipment, implementing improvement plans, and contributing to strategic decision-making. Through hands-on experience and collaboration with industry experts, you'll play a vital role in shaping the future of cement production while honing your skills as a mechanical engineering professional.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with overseeing the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems in cement manufacturing plants.
  • Conducting analysis and troubleshooting of equipment and machinery to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to plant operations staff.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Safety Consciousness: Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe working environment, prioritizing the well-being of self and colleagues.
  • Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to effectively lead and communicate within a team environment, facilitating collaboration and driving results.
  • Academic Excellence: Bachelor's degree with a GPA of 2.7 or higher, showcasing dedication and proficiency in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Technical Proficiency: Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and MS Project, essential for effective project management and reporting.
  • Project Management Skills: Basic understanding of project management principles, enabling effective coordination and execution of tasks.
  • Maintenance Knowledge: Familiarity with basic maintenance procedures, essential for ensuring equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Industry Experience: Co-op experience in heavy industry advantageous, providing practical insights and familiarity with industry practices.
