Role:
As a startup with product-market fit, we're in a crucial phase of scaling our platform to meet increasing demand. We're seeking a talented and driven Software Engineer who will play a pivotal role in enhancing our product's scalability and performance. In addition to taking ownership of significant projects, you'll also be involved in code reviews, and high-level software design decisions. The ideal candidate is someone passionate about continuous learning and continuous improvement, with a sharp mind, quick learning abilities, and a strong grasp of software fundamentals. Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the lead engineer to understand the product architecture and deliver features effectively.
- Take ownership of software architecture, design strategies, and coding standards.
- Review code to ensure quality standards and contribute to testing.
- Take ownership of significant projects and contribute to scaling the platform.
- Tackle challenging technical problems and continuously improve the product.
- Drive scalability and performance improvements across the platform.
- Lead by initiative: proactively research, experiment, and bring actionable ideas on how to improve the desired outcomes.
Skills:
- 2+ years of professional software engineering experience (can include internship experience).
- Strong fundamentals in computer science, including data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and web-based software architecture.
- Ability to work remotely with flexible hours, aligning with offshore teams.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with .NET Core, AWS, and frontend technologies like React/Next.js is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with travel technologies like Sabre travel GDS/Webservices.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
- Pittsburgh-based candidates are preferred.
