Clinical Mental Health Counseling Practicum/Internship

STEP (Student Training and Experience Program) is Alfa Counseling's paid fieldwork program for Master's level students enrolled in CACREP-accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling programs. Our program objectives are based directly on CACREP standards, so you can ensure that your field experience aligns with your coursework and licensure standards. The core focus of STEP includes self-care, multicultural awareness, clinical skills, collaborative relationships, and professional identity. Our unique co-therapy structure allows students to obtain direct hours not just through observation but also active participation in client sessions from intake through termination; all with the support of a trained, licensed clinician. Alfa has a dedicated internship coordinator to provide group and individual supervision, coordinate directly with your school and faculty, and provide clinical support. 

Students completing their fieldwork with STEP will have access to fully furnished office space, dedicated administrative personnel, educational opportunities, and community collaboration.
