Faculty, Information Systems Technology
Miami Dade College is now accepting applications for Faculty, Information Systems Technology.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teaches lecture and laboratory sections
- Evaluates students and performs career and academic advising
- Plans and organizes instructional materials to meet course objectives
- Develops and teaches online courses
- Teaches Dual Enrollment classes
- Recruits, advises, and evaluates students
- Prepares and writes grants for the School of Engineering and Technology
- Teaches information systems technology courses college wide
- Participates in a variety of departmental, campus and college-wide programs, activities, and committees
- Serves as a resource person for adjunct faculty
- Teaches day, evening and weekend classes as needed
Minimum Requirements:
- Doctorate or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field (e.g., Information Technology, Networking and Telecommunications, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity); or Master's degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Computer Science or related field (e.g., Information Technology, Networking and Telecommunications, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity)
- Ability to use innovative teaching techniques
- Must have a passion for teaching in technology
- Familiarity with distance learning and willingness to use technology tools in instruction
- Ability to use collaborative learning techniques and student-centered methods of instructions
- Possess excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skills
- Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
- Start date for this Faculty position is anticipated on or before beginning of Fall Semester 2024
- Doctoral stipend awarded in addition to base salary, as applicable
