Claims Intern (Summer 2024) - Medmarc

This internship supports our medical products liability line of business, Medmarc and is located in Chantilly VA. Our Claims Intern will report to the Chantilly office 5 days a week initially for training, then can transition to a hybrid work arrangement. This is a Summer 2024 opportunity starting as soon as possible, 25-30 hours per week.

Compensation for this internship is up to $18/hour.

Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Claims Intern position is to assist the claims department in performing varied research on former policyholders and their claims/litigation, data entry, and performing special projects for the Claims Department and other departments as needed.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • 30% - Review and set up claim files for claims project.
  • 30% - Review, prepare, and back scan paper files into Document Management System.
  • 30% - Research contact information and court filings for claim files
  • 5% - Provide various administrative support duties to department as needed.
  • 5% - Perform special projects as directed by management.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a corporate business environment preferred
  • Proficiency on PC and Mac
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to perform basic internet research
  • organizational and interpersonal skills
  • and able to accomplish multiple tasks in a timely manner
  • Attention to detail
  • written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

 

Position Salary Range

The salary range displayed represents the entirety of the pay grade for this position. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have, your location and comparison to other team members already in this role.
