Business Analyst Intern

Position Summary:  

Direct Supply is building the future of healthcare technology with industry-leading products, solutions and platforms to help improve the lives of millions of seniors and those who care for them. 

 

As a Business Analyst Intern, you’ll work with business partners to align business strategy with the information technology (IT) vision. You will own a project, which will include gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations. You will formulate and define the scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. You will receive training as well as mentoring from colleagues on your teams. Examples of projects include: Investigate and assess new markets; Develop business plans for new products and services; Build strategies to address changes within our core market.

 

This is a summer internship, accommodating a full-time schedule during the summer. The position has the potential for ongoing summer opportunities for the duration of the student’s academic career and may lead to a full-time role for the superior performer.

 

Competencies & Skills Needed:

  • Adept with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strong record of initiative-taking and leadership in a work setting and/or extracurricular activities
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and collaborative work environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills·   
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Demonstrated knowledge of marketing methodologies and tactics, including advertising, email and web marketing, social media, public relations, etc.
  • Demonstrated creative/ abstract thinking and effective problem-solving skills

 

What You’ll Do and Impact: 

  • Own and execute the assigned project(s); including research, planning, information gathering, problem solving, and project implementation.
  • Identify/document how the project interacts to support business processes.
  • Apply both a business and a technology perspective to understand the big picture of the enterprise along with a good understanding of organizational processes and IT resources.
  • Analyze business and user needs, document requirements, and translate them into requirements.
  • Use knowledge of systems and industry requirements to develop or modify application information systems.
  • Analyze and document business processes and metrics, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Work with product owners and end-users to document and specify new system features, enhancements, or changes.
  • Incorporate a user-centric approach in the recommendation – e.g. using a design thinking process to solution development
  • Learn the nuances of each of our Lines of Business and Shared Service Groups
  • Prepare and deliver professional presentation(s) to the project team, including impacted senior leadership

 

Experience:

Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in  Informatics, MIS,  Information Technology, or related business or technology program; 2 or more semesters remaining before graduation
