WAGES AND BENEFITS

Schedule

This position is completely virtual with a hybrid option available. The candidate must reside in Minnesota during their employment.

 

A Typical Day in the Life…

A typical day as MACC’s Grant Billing Manager provides an opportunity to manage the accounting functions in billing and receivable for an assigned portfolio of nonprofit organizations. Responsibilities will include the following:

Invoicing

  • Creating workbooks for new contracts to ensure proper functioning of workbook.
  • Serving as back up for current Accounts Receivable staff to members.
  • Reviewing AR aging for all members and following up with staff as necessary.
  • Creating invoicing for MACC members monthly for fees and annually for dues.
  • Managing the member billing and invoice processes for government contracts.

Grant & Contract Compliance

  • Servicing as a liaison for MACC members and funders.
  • Promoting MACC member understanding of government contracts and their implications.
  • Being responsible for attending and implementing trainings to ensure that MACC is up-to-date on invoicing processes.
  • Collaborating with members to build grant/contract budgets.
  • Identifying and maintaining best practices in grants/contracts.
  • Ensuring that grant/contract matters are being handled in accordance with federal laws and regulations.

Ad Hoc Projects

  • Assisting financial services team with audits as needed.
  • Creating ad hoc reports as requested by funders or members.
  • Completing projections on grant/contract spenddown as requested.
  • Working with finance team to ensure that processes are flowing smoothly for billing.
  • Working with finance team to ensure allocations of payroll and expenses are being done properly.

 

This position is responsible for supervising a team of Accounting staff.              

 

Who You Are

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in accounting or finance, or you have demonstrably equivalent knowledge gained through alternative courses of study and life experience.
  • You have at least three years of experience with accounting overall with at least two years of experience with accounts receivable and budgeting.
  • Experience with funding software (eGrants, EGMS, JustGrants, etc.) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with fiscal management of grants and contracts is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with accounting software, Microsoft Business Central, is preferred.
  • You demonstrate an interest in the human services nonprofit sector; experience working in a nonprofit setting is preferred.
  • You possess excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
  • You demonstrate strong Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with other Microsoft office products.
  • You are highly attentive to detail.
  • You have the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, with interruptions, simultaneously and accurately.
  • You have the ability to maintain client confidentiality and work well in a team environment.
  • You demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
  • You have the ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, motivate, and lead others effectively.
  • You have the ability to work effectively with different cultures, groups, and languages.
  • You have a valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet MACC’s driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit (not applicable for new hires living out of state).
