Audit Intern: An audit intern has the primary responsibility for assisting, learning, and applying technical audit skills while working as part of the audit team under close coaching and supervision. Audit interns shadow tenured staff on the operation procedures to familiarize themselves with work processes.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work on client matters as assigned by the Firm including working on sections of audits and AUP engagements. 
  • Maintaining an audit trail of all documentation related to an audit, including workpapers and documentation used to support conclusions.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency, accuracy, thoroughness, and efficiency.
  • Begin personal professional development program to continuously improve technical and interpersonal skills.
  • Begin to learn accounting and audit standards, updates, and regulatory changes.
  • Begin using Firm resources to find answers to issues.
  • Treat colleagues and clients with respect and interact positively and professionally when representing the Firm.
  • Take initiative to assist others in completing assignments whenever possible.
  • Seek out feedback and view it as an opportunity to learn.
  • Participate in Firm non-chargeable endeavors, as requested.
  • Strive to meet personal productivity goals assigned by the Firm.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience:

  • Enrolled in Accounting courses or working toward obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
