Fellowship Position Specific Description

The HealtheConnections Public Health Fellow III will work in the area of Epidemiology & Data with a focus on maternal, infant, and family health, and health equity. The Fellow will conduct data exploration to assess the relevant data elements available within the Health Information Exchange (HIE) to support OCHD’s public health priorities, such as the maternal morbidity initiative. In collaboration with the Onondaga County Health Department (OCHD), the Fellow will then analyze these HIE data, looking at disparities across demographics and geography. The Fellow will also help geocode HeC’s data to facilitate analysis beyond just zip code and county. In particular, geocoding of the data will allow the OCHD to isolate data for the City of Syracuse where maternal health outcomes are of most concern. The Fellow will build reports and dashboards to make the data easily accessible to OCHD and other LHDs. Strong analytic skills and experience with statistical software will be needed.
