CleanEarth4Kids.org Journalism Intern
CleanEarth4Kids is a non-profit dedicated to protecting clean air, clean water, public lands, wildlife and children’s health through education, activities, projects, contests, and collaboration. We are advocates for racial, social, climate and environmental justice.
We are dedicated to protecting children’s health, clean air, clean water and non-toxic public lands. We work with city councils, school boards, state legislatures, federal agencies and other groups collaboratively for positive changes.
We have unpaid, flexible, remote intern opportunities for marketing students who will be directly supervised and able to receive community service hours and/or academic credit. We work throughout the nation and the world on projects and initiatives.
Our journalism interns will assist with advocating for clean air, clean water and a non-toxic environment through education and collaboration.
The intern will assist in writing articles to educate the public on toxin chemcials and pollution in our air, water, soil, food, and products and how they can take action. The intern will also assist in creating local, city, state, and national strategies by creating materials for our website, social media, videoclips, flyers, posters, presentations, radio ads, etc.
The intern will brainstorm effective ways to promote successes, events, meetings, projects, curriculum, fundraising, contests and challenges which are held online, schools, and cities across the country.
CleanEarth4Kids.org is currently working on many projects and initiatives like:
- Petitioning the EPA and CARB to adopt the World Health Organization (WHO) air quality guidelines
- Educational programs on the dangers of air pollution and actions to take
- Passing ordinances to end sales of smoking products, including cannabis and e-cigarettes.
- Supporting legislation to stop the use of toxic chemicals and pesticides in our products and on our food.
- Setting policy to end the use of toxic pesticides on all public lands
- Providing feedback to agencies like Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) , Food & Drug Administration (FDA), California Air Resource Board (CARB), California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) and California Office of Environmental Hazards Assessment (OEHHA) on proposed regulations.
We are looking for interns who are self-motivated and have a flexible work style: able to multitask, work well with people of all different ages, genders, backgrounds, ethnicities, religions and learning style preferences. Above all, our interns and volunteers must be caring and dedicated to the betterment of youth.
We look forward to working with you.
