Advanced Manufacturing Intern Fall 2024

Position Description

 

In this position you will be focused on both mechanical design and additive manufacturing. You will work with our Advanced Manufacturing team on a variety exciting projects. This paid position is located at our global headquarters in Racine, Wisconsin. This opportunity can be a part-time or full-time temporary position. The typical assignment lasts for one full semester and there are possibilities to extend for additional semesters.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Support Manufacturing team with concept designs and drawings for new process development work
  • Modify existing models and drawings
  • Support team with 3D printing process development and printing requests
  • Perform hands-on tasks for helping produce equipment/tooling
  • Conduct process and part experiments, trials, or testing
  • May communicate directly with customer engineering or design teams, Modine suppliers, or Modine facilities
  • Work in teams with personnel from multiple departments globally including manufacturing operations, product development and application engineering

 

Required Education & Qualifications

 

Education Requirements: 

 

  • Must be pursuing an Associate’s degree in Mechanical Design Technology, Advanced Manufacturing Technology, or another technical field equivalent

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Experience in 3D solid modeling
  • Experience reading and creating engineering drawings
  • Hands-on experience and a working knowledge of FDM 3D printers
  • Have the ability to consider manufacturability of components parts through design process
  • Proven troubleshooting, mechanical, and analytical skills
  • Customer-focused attitude
  • Ability to work in a team environment while taking ownership of projects
