School-Age Family Engagement Facilitator

TITLE: School-Age Family Engagement Facilitator (Grant Funded Position)
LOCATION: Jefferson Lewis BOCES with initial assignment in a five-county region
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Provide regional training on issues related to family engagement and community involvement within the educational systems as determined through the regional planning process. All training will be made available to all stakeholders, including but not limited to families of students ages 5-21, community members and staff of public school districts, approved private day and residential schools, Special Act schools, State-supported and State-operated schools.
Provide targeted professional development and technical assistance on issues related to family engagement and community involvement within the educational systems as determined through the regional planning process. All training will be made available to all predetermined identified stakeholders.
Collaborate with the Central Regional Partnership Center to provide capacity-building sessions per the regional work plan.

QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in special education, social work, psychology, school psychology, reading or speech, and language or Bachelor’s degree in special education, social work, psychology, school psychology, reading or speech and language and a Master’s degree in education or social work; and at least five years of direct teaching or provision of services with, or providing professional development and technical assistance relating to community service agencies and increasing family engagement in the educational setting. Knowledge of the latest research regarding the implementation of evidence-based practices in the area of family engagement and community partnerships. The applicant must demonstrate leadership ability and experience working with families, community agencies, and school districts in systems change. New York State School District Leader or School Building Leader certification preferred.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: $75,000-$82,000. This is a 12-month position. Salary commensurate with experience in keeping with the current agreement.
