Public Accounting Summer Internship

Interested in learning more about a career in public accounting?  Thompson Greenspon, one of Northern Virginia’s largest accounting firms, is offering a summer internship experience for students interested in pursuing a career in public accounting to learn about the different positions offered at the firm.

You will have the opportunity to rotate working with the various departments of the firm: 

  • Audit – exposure to various audit sections i.e. A/P, cash, fixed assets, 401(k) 
  • Tax – exposure to personal and business tax preparation and projections 
  • Client Accounting and Advisory Services – exposure to QuickBooks and accounting tasks

You will also be able to: 

  • Participate in research and soft skills training
  • Work with various industry software programs
  • Join the Firm in social and volunteer events
  • Participate in discussions to learn more about the firm and the profession, including asking questions of employee panels
  • Meet and work with all members of the firm
  • Meet with an assigned mentor weekly

Internship Information:

  • June and July 2025, with the week of July 4th off
  • Up to 32 hours per week during Monday – Thursday
  • Office location is in Fairfax, Virginia
