Law Clerk (Intern) - The Toro Company

Position will be based in Bloomington MN in a hybrid capacity. #LI-Hybrid

 

OBJECTIVES:

The legal department supports diverse business functions and corporate needs across the enterprise.  The law clerk hired for this position will assist with various projects related to international legal issues including anti-bribery and privacy law compliance, export controls,  product and packaging regulatory requirements, product liability, and global business compliance laws and regulations.

DUTIES:

  • Conduct legal research and provide interpretations of domestic and international laws and regulations regarding warranties, distribution and agency laws, export control regulations, international trade and tariffs, anti-bribery and money laundering, privacy and employment. 
  • Assist in reviewing and drafting non-disclosure agreements and other standard agreements.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of various compliance programs.
  • Assist in the preparation of training campaigns related to compliance programs (FCPA, privacy, export control, etc.).
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of compliance programs related to global product and packaging regulations.
  • Conduct legal research and provide interpretation of domestic and international regulations concerning products and packaging.
  • Conduct research regarding product liability litigation and provide analysis of research.
  • Other duties as assigned.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience

  • Second or Third year law student
  • Skilled in legal research and legal writing
  • Desired GPA: Top 25% of class
  • Available to work 16 to 24 hours per week during the school year and full time during the summer

Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge of various computer program and applications beneficial
