City of Portland - Recreation Programmer II - Community Center

The City of Portland Recreation Division is offering a creative opportunity to engage with the community through a variety of recreational activities. Varied schedule to include working an after school recreation program, community center programming and site rentals.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Plans, conducts, organizes and promotes classes or programs.
• Work with the general public in Community Center programming.
• Assists with organizing and promoting tournaments, athletics, instruction, special programs and events.
• Participates in the planning and development of new programs and classes for groups of participants.
• Maintains order and discipline to ensure a safe and positive environment.
• May supervise and train personnel (paid or volunteers) assigned to assist in specialty classes or programs.
• Maintains equipment and facilities.
• Participate and engage with the diverse population in recreation facilities and community centers.

Requirements:

• Experience with youth/adult programming, basketball, and summer camps preferred.
• Must have excellent customer service experience and enjoy working with people of all ages.
• First aid and CPR certified preferred.
• Must possess valid Class C driver's license in good standing.

Salary & Benefits:

This is a union position, CEBA(Grade 9) - Salary range, $20.34 - $21.25/hr.
