Assurance Intern - Summer 2025 - San Francisco

Are you eager to dive into the world of assurance and audit services? Marcum LLP is offering an enriching Assurance Internship that promises real-world exposure to the heart of our practice. Our internship aims to provide a clear and detailed insight into all operations within the Assurance department.


Responsibilities

  • This is a fully in-office (part-time) internship, where you will engage with all facets of our Assurance department, ensuring a comprehensive, hands-on experience.
  • Work on meaningful and challenging assignments in direct collaboration with Marcum partners and team members.
  • Participate in Audit compliance activities alongside experienced Assurance staff, contributing to key aspects of client service.
  • Utilize and enhance your quantitative, analytical, and technological skills in a dynamic work environment.
  • Document and maintain work to facilitate the progression of engagement work by other team members.
  • Conduct mathematical checks, engage in research, draft articles, and ensure accuracy in financial documents.
  • Liaise with clients and maintain team communication regarding project status.
  • Adapt to additional responsibilities as they arise during the internship.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing on a full-time basis or holding a BA/BS/MS in Accounting or a related field; high school diploma is required.
  • Must maintain a cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment; Marcum LLP will not consider applicants for these positions who require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future.
  • Eligible to sit for the CPA Exam upon graduating, with 150-credit hours.
  • Ability to travel to clients if needed.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage tasks efficiently.
