What Skills Will You Learn and What Will You Be Doing?
As one of our Tax interns you will have the opportunity to learn more about the services, industries, departments, clients, and people that make DK one of the fastest growing firms in California. You will gain invaluable real-world experience working alongside professionals at all levels that will provide you with insight into areas of tax law and accounting.
Tax intern projects may include:
- Preparation of federal and state corporate, individual, trust and partnership returns under supervision
- Preparation of Form 1099’s, Payroll Tax Returns and Sales Tax Returns
- Inputting checks and deposits into accounting software
- Reference and reconcile balance sheets and income statement accounts
- Assisting in tax planning and projections
- Preparation of HRIS and PM timesheets and Excel to Do lists
What Is Required?
- Must be currently enrolled in an accounting program (major, minor, or graduate program)
- Work as an individual contributor and as part of a team to support varying client engagements, possibly across multiple industries which may include Technology, Real Estate, Manufacturing, Non-Profit and more
- Collaborate and communicate clearly and regularly with a team of professionals on client projects through multiple channels including meetings, chat, and email
- Attention to detail and analytical mindset
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Develop skills in accounting and accounting related software
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Desire to learn and grow with the firm
- This is a temporary contract position as a regular part time employee
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without organization sponsorship
