POSITION: Construction Project Engineer
REPORTS TO: Project Manager(s)
SUMMARY:
This position is to assist project managers on multiple projects.
This job will entail working in diverse settings to push construction forward with Project Manager/Project Coordinator.
The ideal candidate will be self-driven, has the ability to work within a team and independently, excellent communication skills and has the ability to facilitate daily tasks as well as look ahead tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage Site Conditions (clean site, move materials and tools, organized)
- Coordinate with and supervision of subtrades
- Review and facilitate project schedules
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements
- Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
- Inspect and review shop drawings, cutsheets, lead times
- Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance
- Software; proficient in Auto Desk, Microsoft Excel, Project and Word
- Coordinate and meet inspectors (inspections)
- Safety inspections
- Post current schedules
REQUIREMENTS:
- Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
- Self-Driven
- Problem solver oriented
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
- Good knowledge of English
- Good understanding of basic math
- Good physical condition and endurance; heavy lifting of required
- Associate’s Degree in Construction Management or equivalent program preferred
- Ability to lift 40 pounds and to operate heavy equipment
- Ability to interpret and build according to drawings, specifications and other documents
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
