Associate Human Resources Generalist - Job Rotation Program

Our Job Rotation Program participants experience four 6-month rotation assignments over two years to provide broad exposure across campus in different facets of human resources (HR). Join our program in this world-renowned university where every employee contributes to the Wisconsin Idea, located in one of the most livable cities in America!

Program Highlights:

-Regular interactions with senior university leadership

-Hands-on work in a variety of settings across campus gaining exposure and networking opportunities

-Participation with cohort in on-going professional development and in building an inclusive environment

-Diverse assignments across business units and organizational functions

-Eligibility and support in transitioning to a post-program role on campus including participation in our Alumni Network

Rotational experiences consider individual interests and are designed and tailored by the program to meet university priorities. Employees are hired and onboarded as a cohort to provide a community experience with a focus on shared learning and contributing to the development of the program overall. All three tracks of the program - Finance, Human Resources, and Information Technology - prepare rotators to be well-equipped to transition to permanent roles on campus at the end of the program.

Qualifications:

-Learning agility and desire for experience across the diverse domains of Human Resources 

-Adaptability to adjust to new work environments and flexibility to adjust actions and mindset to new situations 

-Effective communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills 

-Ability to take initiative in advocating and prioritizing workload and self-manage projects, handle multiple tasks, and work within ambiguity 

-Detail-oriented and robust problem-solving and decision-making skills 

-Foundational human resources knowledge and/or related experience 

-Reliable critical and conceptual thinking skills; ability to prepare, analyze and interpret human resources policy and procedures 

-Able to work with all levels of employees and management within the organization 

Preferred Qualifications:

-Prior relevant internship or entry-level experience 

-Knowledge of human resources principles, practices, and procedures 

-Experience with projects and day-to-day administrative human resources work 

-Capability to conduct research, analyze data, and discuss workable solutions 

-Presentation skills
