2024-25 Field Season Internships - Buffalo Field Campaign
Protect buffalo from human-impacted extinction! Intern for sustainable public land use, biodiversity conservation, tribal co-stewardship, and climate change resiliency!
Where: Yellowstone National Park / Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem
Buffalo Field Campaign (BFC) is seeking the skills, interest, and dedication of undergraduate and graduate interns for the 2024-25 Field Season!
BFC Field Season interns participate in field patrols to observe and protect buffalo during their annual migration from Yellowstone National Park to lower elevations in native habitat to sustainably graze during the winter months and calve in their traditional calving grounds.
During our Field Season, we conduct daily patrols to monitor buffalo migration corridors, collect data, and provide outreach and media for any threats to the population.
You will be part of a team that observes and records buffalo movement in hiking boots, on cross-country skis, and in field patrol vehicles. You will participate in facilitating safe
highway crossings for the buffalo and be an active participant in observing any State and Federal Agency Management actions including hunting activities.
