Information Technology Internship
Trex Company, the world’s number one decking and railing brand, and leader in high-performance, low-maintenance outdoor living products, is seeking a Information Technology Intern to work with our Information Technology Department to support Trex employees' technology needs.
As an IT Intern, you are technically savvy and have solid troubleshooting skills. Depending on your interests and education level you may be installing software, setting up hardware, configuring network devices, programming applications, or providing support.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Depending on your area of study, projects may include:
General:
· Provide technical support to end users.
· Assist in troubleshooting technology issues.
Infrastructure:
· Monitor backup systems.
· Help with upgrading network equipment.
· Help with upgrading workstations.
Cyber Security:
· Conduct risk assessments and technical vulnerability assessments.
· Assist with remediation and user education.
· Perform penetration testing using industry tools.
Application Development:
· Developing new features while incorporating feedback from team members and clients.
· Maintaining and upgrading legacy components to modern development standards.
· Collaborating with team members during design reviews to refine user experience.
Business Applications:
· Business requirements gathering and compilation, gap analysis and solutions design.
· Simulation of business processes execution in the proposed solutions.
· Software/application installation and upgrade
Requirements:
· Pursuing a degree in computer science, or related fields
· GPA of 3.0 or above
· Strong computer skills
· Passion to learn
· Must be able to prioritize, efficiently manage time, demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to solve problems accurately and efficiently
