D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Financial and Market Analyst. The right candidate will support the Land Team to source and contract land for the development of residential subdivisions and to acquire finished lots.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Participate in the division business plan process
- Research and analyze properties using a Geographic Information System (GIS), city/county planning websites, and other sources to identify new sites
- Gather market research for division land prospects
- Identify site characteristics, conduct initial feasibility, track land sales data, and collect competitive market data
- Perform research and analysis that is effective in implementing a focused marketing, land and product strategy
- Review all acquisition projections prior to submission and make updates and corrections
- Compile, review, and submit market analysis and acquisition documents
- Assist in the forecasting process regarding feasibility measures for potential deals
- Act as the liaison between the division land department and the region legal team
- Oversee project profitability spanning the life of a project
- Equip management with profitability analysis and reporting, including actual to budgeted data to enable informed decision-making
- Identify problem areas. Evaluate, recommend, and implement alternative solutions
- Prepare various reports and analyses required by corporate
- Provide accounting support in addition to managing special projects
- Interface with other departments to ensure constant communication regarding timing, design elements, access pertaining to project status
- Build strategic relationships and a network of business contacts
- Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
- Ability to travel overnight
Qualifications - External
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
- Four to seven years of related experience and/or training
- Familiarity with land acquisition, land development, real estate, and/or GIS research; or completion of coursework in a relatable degree program
- Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license
- Experience using GIS
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Provide attention to detail and manage multiple responsibilities
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
- Proficiency with MS Office and email
- Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision
- The noise level is generally moderate
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge in Budgeting and Financial Management a plus
