Summer Associate Internship (Debit Card Analytics & Strategy)
Our division consists of the Debit Cards Branch and the Fund Services Branch. We strive to provide unsurpassed service not only in our Navy Federal Debit Card, CUCARD, and Prepaid programs but in our payment related systems: ACH Origination Transactions, Western Unions, Cashier's Checks, and Bank Wire Transfers.
This Summer Associate will be supporting the Debit Card Analytics & Strategy team, focusing on the Navy Federal Debit Card product. Most of the spending at Navy Federal happens on the Navy Federal Debit Card, so understanding spend and driving innovation to achieve and protect top-of-wallet status is core to the organization. We are looking for a self-starter who is excited to make an impact and be an active partner in taking our business to the next level.
Depending on the applicant's experience, the project could be:
- Evaluating early-month-on-book strategy, marketing, and supporting material to increase cardholder engagement
- Evaluating online spend opportunities in key merchant groups (e.g., bill pay, subscription, streaming, food delivery) to develop an improved strategy and marketing plans by core segment
- Developing new and/or streamline existing KPls and support automated dashboards/reporting
The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2025 and ending in August 2025. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2025 or later.
Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and assess market information related to stakeholders within the payments ecosystem (e.g., consumer, issuer, networks, merchants) to support business goals and drive innovation, growth, and efficiencies
- Develop business case to support findings/recommendations
- Develop and present proposal on findings from analysis and research to all levels of management
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Masters degree in Business Administration or other related degree
- Experience with analysis, data manipulation, and research
- Solid communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work both collaboratively with others across varying business units and independently
- Strong strategic, critical, and analytical thinking skills
- Product management experience and/or basic knowledge of financial services/payments a plus
