Allegheny Health Network is actively considering future 2025 Nurse Externs for the following AHN Hospital locations:

• Allegheny General Hospital
• Allegheny Valley Hospital
• Canonsburg Hospital
• Forbes Hospital
• Grove City Hospital
• Jefferson Hospital
• West Penn Hospital
• Wexford Hospital
• St. Vincent Hospital (Erie)

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Performs day to day clinical and patient care activities under the direct supervision of the professional nurse.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Demonstrates competency in clinical skills (i.e. hygiene, nutritional needs, vital signs, and specimens). (40%)
• Communicates pertinent patient data accurately and utilizes time management skills to organize and prioritize patient care activities. (30%)
• Assumes responsibility for own professional development. (30%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

CPR – American Heart Association

Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate

Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Enrolled in an approved/accredited diploma/degree nursing program

Projected December 2025 or Spring 2026 nursing program graduate in good academic standing.
