Location: Remote – Preference for individuals located in Alaska, Arizona, Connecticut, New Jersey, North Dakota, South Dakota, West Virginia, or Wyoming
Hours: Flexible schedule;10-15 hours/week; occasional evening/weekend commitments
Salary: School credit or volunteer hours only; supervision provided by LCSW
Reports To: Kelly Petersohn, LCSW, Camp Erin Online Programs Manager
Position Summary:
This intern/volunteer will learn about the Camp Erin program, analyze community needs as they relate to youth bereavement and grief support, and share the program model with potential participants and community partners.
Position Description:
Learning opportunities will include:
- programming, marketing, and administrative aspects of a national nonprofit organization
- overview of childhood bereavement and grief support best practices
- overview of substance use disorder and addiction prevention best practices
- overview of the Eluna Resource Center- including the robust resource library, Community Conversations, personalized support, & key assets (Caregiver Guidebook, Postcard Pointers, and Care Packages)
The intern/volunteer will work alongside the Camp Erin Online Programs Manager to gather data on community needs as they relate to youth bereavement and grief support. Data gathered will be used to support the identification of key organizations and stakeholders followed by the implementation of collaborative partnership development and outreach.
The intern/volunteer will collaborate with the Camp Erin Online Programs manager to share information with community partners with the following goals:
- increase awareness related to the prevalence and impact of childhood bereavement
- provide training and education on how to support youth and families grieving the death of someone close to them
- develop a streamlined process of referring families to grief support services through the Eluna Resource Center and Camp Erin Online
This position will have opportunities for the following:
- Co-presenting (virtual) childhood bereavement overview and support practices
- Co-facilitating (virtual) grief support groups and specialty grief expression events
- Collaborative development of training materials, resources, and marketing assets

Duties and responsibilities:
- Gain knowledge related to childhood bereavement and related grief support best practices
- Analyze need for grief support services within local community
- Collaborative development of materials, assets and resources
- Co-present childhood bereavement overview
- Co-facilitate grief support groups and events
- Utilize database system for inputting, tracking and analyzing program data
- Conduct outreach support for camper recruitment, upcoming events, and other programmatic initiatives
- Support Eluna’s Camp Erin, Camp Mariposa and the Eluna Resource Center, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (completed) in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Family Studies & Human Development, Juvenile Justice, Communications/Marketing, Public Health or related fields
- Currently enrolled in a master’s degree program in the previously identified fields of study (preferred)
- Experience in community partnership development, communication/marketing, outreach, group facilitation, online programming, and/or childhood bereavement, preferred
