Actuary Intern (Summer 2025)

Position Summary
The Actuary Intern will be deeply involved in all aspects of the actuarial job duties listed below and work with a highly collaborative team. Given the size of the plan, the position allows for a wide range of actuarial opportunities and skill growth within an organization that supports a healthy work-life balance.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s degree program in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science with at least one semester left to complete all degree requirements after the internship.
Preferred Qualifications

- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Passed at least 1 actuarial exam
- Experience using Microsoft Office products including Access, Excel and Word
- Candidates should have a goal of becoming an actuary upon graduation
Work Modality
This position is subject to a hybrid work schedule.
Job Duties
The duties of the Actuary Intern include, but will not be limited to, the following:
- Participate in the annual actuarial reconciliation process of the System data.
- Draft the information, charts, and graphs for the Actuarial and Statistical sections of the System’s Annual Financial Report
- Work with outside auditors and System accountants to prepare the System’s Annual Financial Report
- Prepare actuarial annuity values and option factors in accordance with statue, including the computation of option factors for alternative options and domestic relation orders.
- Prepare actuarial information of the July board meeting
Salary Grade
This is a non-graded position.
Salary Range
$24.00 per hour.
