CSX Tax Internship - Summer 2025 (Paid)
Tax Internship Summary:
CSX is a Fortune 250 company seeking future business leaders to help foster growth, efficiency and innovation. Interns that are placed within the Tax Organization will be exposed to Federal and State Income, Sales, and Property Tax issues for a 10 week immersion into CSX methods and culture. Individuals will complete challenging real-world assignments, working hand in hand with leaders across the company to improve decision-making and financial processes. The tax internship provides an opportunity for candidates to experience what a role in income and indirect tax looks like, while allowing CSX to actively recruit tomorrow’s best talent.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities:
- Participate in and learn core functions of the income and indirect tax department
- Prepare Federal and state income, sales and use, and property tax returns using various tax preparation software
- Participate in process improvement projects designed to improve best practices
- Conduct tax research, summarize results, and communicate findings to co-workers
- Complete cross functional projects and other miscellaneous administrative activities
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, or a related major field of study from an accredited institution
- Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4-point scale)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Anticipated graduation within a year after the end of the internship
- Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.5 (based on a 4-point scale)
Knowledge and Skills:
- Academic distinction with accounting or finance interest/talent
- Opportunity to develop leadership ability and initiative
- Opportunity to develop strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
- Opportunity to deliver presentations to a senior level audience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
