Project Exploration creates transformative learning experiences, pathways, and a community for youth underrepresented in STEM, especially low-income students, students of color, and young women in Chicago, IL. The organization opens the door to science for minority youth and girls through out-of-school time programs, spring break, and summer programs. Project Exploration's program model focuses on getting students interested in science, keeping them engaged, and equipping them with the necessary skills to pursue STEM careers.
Role Description
This part-time on-site role is as a STEM Program Facilitator at Project Exploration in Chicago, IL. The STEM Program Facilitator will facilitate hands-on science activities, foster long-term relationships with students, assist with youth development activities, and provide advanced science and leadership opportunities. The role involves interaction and collaboration with scientists and promotes reading, writing, and public speaking skills among students.

Qualifications
- Strong background in STEM disciplines and knowledge of science curriculum
- Experience in facilitating hands-on science activities and youth development programs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage and inspire students from underrepresented communities in STEM
- Organizational and time management skills
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field or education
- Certifications in education or youth development are a plus
