Job Description
AECOM is seeking a highly talented Entry-Level Civil Engineer (Office Engineer)for employment in New York/New Jersey .
This position is expected to begin in May or June 2025.
The Office Engineer (OE) is responsible for setting up, maintaining and closing out the project records. The Office Engineer will work closely with the Resident (R.E) and Assistant (A.R.E) Engineer(S) and the Construction Manager (CM) to ensure project records are prepared in accordance with contract and applicable NYCDEP manuals and policies. The Office Engineer will work with Inspectors to ensure all reports are complete, accurate and free from mathematical errors. Additional responsibilities of the Office Engineer are:

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible of Oversight and maintenance of project record logs, including but not limited to logs for all Submittals, Payments, RFI’s, CO’s, WST’s, Subcontractor tracking, NCR’s, CPM submissions, SAR’s. Must also organize these records in a way that makes it easy for the CM/DCM/RE and other project members to access the appropriate documents via PMIS and other means.
- Assist ARE with the processing and reviewing of Progress Payments for contractors.
- Assist CM/DCM with handling of ODC requests and expenditures for required upkeep of CM Trailer Complex, including but not limited to, internet/phone services, janitorial services, office supplies procurement, and building maintenance items.
- Provide assistance to the Construction Manager and Resident Engineers in drafting letters and replying to DEP requests for information.
- Responsible to prepare drafts of monthly PMIS reports for all projects for review by RE/ARE.
- Assist CM with preparation of monthly I &T presentation. Attend I&T meetings to prepare meeting minutes with action items, and to properly file I&T reports in e-builder.
- Assisting the RE/ARE with maintenance of records for the Inspector’s test reports. Follow-up with lead inspectors and project administration staff for completion of critical issues and tasks. Monitor Contractor turnover of all Spare Parts and Operations and Maintenance Manuals to BWT / Plant Operations for all projects.
- Monitor all Training sessions between the Contractor/Vendor and Plant Operations for all projects.
- Maintain tracking logs for the Closeout of all projects that have reached Substantial Completion.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working for construction contractor(s) in NYC.
- Experience with NYCDEP projects.

- Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $80,000.00 - $82,000.00.
