About the Position:

 

Under the direction of the Minor B/Emergency Contracts Branch Chief, a Senior Transportation Engineer, the Transportation Engineer (Civil) acts as the Maintenance Agreement Coordinator. The incumbent coordinates and prepares Freeway Maintenance Agreements, Landscape Maintenance Agreements, Delegated Maintenance Agreements, Electrical Maintenance Agreements, and Project-Specific Maintenance Agreements in support of the Division of Maintenance. The incumbent also reviews various plans and documents related to project development regarding the future maintainability of the facility being proposed. The incumbent coordinates with other District and Headquarters Divisions within Caltrans and with external contacts such as local agencies. The incumbent prepares plans, specifications, estimates, permits, certifications, and other required documents for Minor B construction contracts in compliance with Departmental policies and procedures. Based on the unit workload and delivery commitments, the incumbent performs various transportation engineering tasks of average difficulty accomplished through understanding and applying Caltrans standards, manuals, guidelines, policies, directives, and computer software applications. 

For placement in TEC Range D, possession of a valid certificate of registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers is required.
