Utility Design Intern

The Gas and Electric Distribution Design Department at Xcel Energy is seeking a part time Design Assistant. The successful candidate will focus on executing excavation/right-of-way permits for government agencies, providing detail maps/sketches of proposed gas and/or electric distribution work. May also provide project management assistance and billing of gas and electric residential services. 

Minimum Requirements:

Ability to commute to location is required.

Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in: project management, construction management, Geography or GIS, or similar.

Must have a valid driver's license.

Experience producing maps using ArcGIS, or other mapping-related software

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

Reliable and able to prioritize and work independently

Excellent communication skills
