QA Tester (Entry Level)

Castle Hill Gaming (CHG), with headquarters in Charlottesville, VA, was launched in 2013 by a group of seasoned veterans of the online video and casino gaming industries. Many of our team members have worked together for over 15 years, utilizing decades of experience, insight, and knowledge to create the most entertaining Class II, Class III, and Historical Horse Racing (HHR) gaming machines in the market

Position Overview:

At Castle Hill Gaming, our QA Tester is a professional who tests the functionality and usability of new or existing software before it goes live to ensure it is bug-free. They work closely with developers, providing feedback on what needs improvement in the code execution to produce top-quality programs that meet customer expectations. Additionally, you will assess software quality through manual testing.

You will be responsible for finding and reporting bugs and issues.

In this role, you should have a keen eye for detail, logic and excellent communication skills. If you are also competent in using computer hardware and are passionate about quality, we’d like to meet you!

Ultimately, you will ensure that our products, applications, and systems work correctly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manually execute test cases and analyze results.
  • Reviewing and analyzing platforms, games and other related tools.
  • Reporting and documenting technical issues. · Document software and hardware defects.
  • Help investigate Field and Customer problems as needed.
  • Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing.
  • Perform on-site testing on custom hardware.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle

Education, Training and Experience Required:

Required:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills. · Excellent attention to detail.
  • Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Conceptual ability to document and troubleshoot errors.
  • Highschool degree or equivalent.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. using proper lifting techniques.
  • Able to embrace and excel in a small company environment that may require effort outside of your typical role.

Preferred:

  • Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Tester or similar.
  • Functional knowledge of test management software (e.g., Testmo, Jira, Gerkin).
  • Familiarity with Agile Software Development processes.
  • Successful experience with manual testing processes.
  • Experience with version control and issue tracking.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and identify root causes of issues.
