Operations Leadership Student Assistant
About the Department
You will be joining Fill & Finish Expansions (FFEx), which is responsible for all major expansion activities within aseptic production, solid dosage forms, finished products, fill & finish warehousing, and QC across all production areas in Product Supply. The area is anchored in Product Supply, Quality & IT, which globally employ approx. 20,000 of Novo Nordisk’s 50,000 employees.
FFEx is a newly established and growing area with the responsibility to design, plan, and build all new aseptic filling capacity across Novo Nordisk to serve the needs of millions of patients. We do it by rethinking our production facilities with the use of modern technology, as we are setting the standards for the aseptic production of the future. Facilities designed today which we will still be proud of 20 years from now. FF Expansions has a global approach, where you will be working with multiple sites and cultures across the world.
The Position
The Operations Leadership Intern will be working with the Operations team to build leadership skills, coordinate working cells, event response, using standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provide you with the opportunity to learn front line supervision. This unique role will teach out about front line supervision, leadership strategies, leadership engagement and more. By working with current leaders in the field, you will have the chance to shadow other individuals in different areas of operations and gain knowledge for both your future professional and educational development.
Physical Requirements
- 0-5% overnight travel required
- Depending upon area of assignment:
- If assigned to a manufacturing area, you must have the ability to work in confined spaces, near operating equipment, and work in loud noise environments with hearing protection
- If assigned to a support or office role, you must have the ability to work in an open office environment with extensive use of a computer keyboard, and frequent use of a telephone
- May occasionally move equipment and/or supplied weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions
- May require corrected vision to 20/30
Accountabilities
- Conduct research, gather, and analyze data, prepare and/or review documents, reports and/or presentations
- Learn and support relevant processes, standards, and policies
- Learn the practical application of cLEAN (LEAN) practices in a manufacturing context, including participating in and assisting with systematic problem solving
- Work with, observe, assist and/or collaborate with and learn from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
- Apply and adhere to all Standard Operating Processes (SOPs), policies and environmental, health and safety requirements
- Support and learn processes, activities, relevant standards as assigned
- Meet and network with other interns
- Participate in team meetings
- Complete assigned trainings
Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Science, or a related discipline preferred
- Conscientious self-starter with good organizational skills, project management skills and attention to detail
- Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities, must be able to multi-task
- Strong interpersonal communication and ability to collaborate with teams; must effectively operate independently, across functional lines, and with internal customers
- Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to learn
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
