Job Description

Linux Administrator II – RedHat Systems

The Linux Administrator will be responsible for configuring and patching secure RedHat Enterprise Linux systems within the Sonepar environment. This role involves collaborating in a team-oriented atmosphere with end users, developers, system administrators, and security engineers. The goal is to determine the most secure and agile methods for administering, monitoring, and deploying systems using automation, ensuring alignment with Sonepar’s security standards. 

System Installation and Configuration  

  • Collaboration: Work with system/software vendors and Security Engineers/Architects to understand and implement security requirements.
  • Configuration Management: Ensure RedHat Enterprise Linux systems align with the Center for Internet Security (CIS) Benchmarks.

System Maintenance 

  • Automation: Write, debug, and maintain scripts using Python and Ansible.
  • Monitoring: Use SYSLOG and SIEM solutions to monitor the RedHat environment.
  • Patch Management: Ensure systems adhere to patch management processes and cybersecurity standards.

DevSecOps Integration 

  • Secure Configurations: Implement secure OS and application configurations using DevSecOps tools and processes.
  • Vulnerability Management: Collaborate with the Vulnerability Management Team to remediate vulnerabilities through automation.

Minimum work experience requirements: 

  • 1-3 years of experience work as a RedHat Linux systems administrator
  • Hands-on experience running RedHat servers in a virtualized environment
  • Python operating knowledge
  • Ansible operating knowledge
  • Understanding of APIs
  • Understanding of Configuration Management Practices
  • Understanding of JSON (JavaScript Object Notation)  

 

Annual Salary: $110,000 

Target Bonus: 10%

Travel: 10%
