Programmer Assistant

We are a tutoring center dedicated to helping students improve their test scores. We are currently seeking a Programmer Assistant to collaborate closely with our lead programmer in the development and maintenance of the iLearning software. This software simulates online state exam formats, helping students quickly adapt to exams and improve their scores. This position is ideal for individuals with programming experience who enjoy learning and tackling technical challenges. The work location is in Flushing, and the position requires an on-site presence 2-3 days per week, with flexible scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and maintenance of front-end and back-end features of the iLearning software
• Write, test, and debug code to ensure system stability and functionality
• Collaborate with the lead programmer on server-side issues, including using Linux and command-line operations
• Participate in project design and feature optimization, proposing feasible improvements
• Adjust and optimize the system’s user experience based on student feedback

• Ensure the successful completion of this project before leaving the position—commitment to seeing it through is essential

Required Skills and Experience:

• Front-end development: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Back-end development: Familiarity with Python programming language
• Server operations: Ability to work in a Linux environment and use command-line tools
• Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative team spirit
• Prior experience in the software development industry is a plus
