Special Education Teacher

We are currently looking for candidates interested to work in San Mateo County, California.

The locations of interest are The Bridge School, Portola Valley SD, Ravenswood SD, Jefferson UHSD.

Education and Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Special Education or related field;
  • Three years of teaching experience;
  • Valid California Department of Education Special Education Teacher Certificate.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Experience teaching in a self-contained special education classroom setting.
  • Documented experience with special education consultation, staff training and program development.
  • Understanding curriculum, special education teaching methods and techniques, behavioral interventions, classroom management and professional development;
  • Appling and interpreting special education laws rules regulations;
  • Recognizing training needs in program areas and to implement professional development programs;
  • Displaying a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments and a commitment to quality services;
  • Encouraging and facilitating cooperation, pride, and trust;
  • Engaging and encouraging communication skills while interacting with supervisors, staff, students, etc. to exchange information.
