Camp Counselor
Camp High Rocks sits at an elevation of 3000 feet in the midst of 1000 acres of camp-owned mountain woodland, with an 11 acre lake, and miles of hiking and biking trails. Founded in 1958, High Rocks remains dedicated to providing a caring, challenging, and noncompetitive outdoor experience for boys. Campers choose their activities and progress at their own pace. Counselors provide basic and advanced instruction in one or several of our activity areas:
•English Hunt Seat Riding
•Rock Climbing
•Mountain Biking
•Canoeing and Kayaking
•Hiking and Backpacking
•Fishing
•Pottery
•Swimming
•Sailing and Paddleboarding
•Riflery and Archery
•Crafts
•Tennis
•Soccer
•Disc Golf
•Photographer/Videographer
•Childcare
•High Ropes Course
Responsibilities: Each counselor shares in various responsibilities: being aware of camper safety, organizing activities in camp and on trips out of camp, teaching specific skills, and supporting the campers' growth. Male counselors live in a cabin with 5-7 boys, ages 7- 16. Female counselors have other duties in place of cabin coverage. There is a lot of hard work involved, but the joy felt and the personal encouragement received from helping a child grow and mature is unmatched. We are excited for you to become a part of the High Rocks family!
Benefits: Starting from $325 to $450 per week for the season. Room, board and laundry are included. Staff lounge with WiFi. Free and discounted training including Wilderness First Aid and Lifeguarding available in late May.
