This Health Informatics internship is available to Dakota State University (DSU) students. 

Position Highlights:

• Available to candidates that reside in a rural area outside of Lincoln and Minnehaha Counties
• Hybrid schedule – Will have the ability to work remotely and onsite within rural Avera facilities
• Need to be able to complete a minimum of 500 hours
• Opportunity to apply classroom learning in a healthcare environment

Job Summary

Avera Health Informatics internship will provide the student with the opportunity to apply classroom learning in a real world healthcare environment and engage with clinicians and other healthcare professionals in the advancement of health information and telehealth strategies. This is a hybrid position where the student will work remotely and spend some time in Avera facilities.

 Education and/or Experience

• Must be a current Dakota State University (DSU) student.
• Candidates with faculty recommendations are preferred.
• Interns should have a strong interest in expanding their knowledge base within Health Informatics in a healthcare setting.
• Coursework in health information, health informatics, information technology or related field preferred.  Campus and community involvement is encouraged.  Candidates with faculty recommendations are preferred.

Pay

• $17.00 per hour
