We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Intern to support our innovative efforts in legal AI education and regulatory analysis.
Role Overview:
As a Legal Intern with Wickard, you will gain valuable experience conducting legal research on AI regulations domestically and internationally, as well as drafting educational materials and strategy recommendations. You’ll also have the opportunity to assist with research and write op-eds, reports, and analyses on AI’s impact on the legal field. This role involves working directly with our Founder and CEO, a practicing attorney who also heads an AI practice group.
Key Responsibilities:
- AI Regulatory Research: Conduct in-depth research on U.S. and international AI regulations to inform recommendations and strategic guidance for our platform.
- Content Creation: Research and draft educational op-eds, reports, and analytical articles on legal AI, regulatory developments, and strategic insights.
- Strategy Development: Help draft recommendations and strategies that address AI integration and compliance within the legal industry.
- Education Support: Contribute to educational initiatives, developing materials that inform and empower legal professionals on AI topics.
- Industry Trend Analysis: Stay informed on trends in legal tech and AI to guide content and strategic decisions.
Requirements:
- Education: Current undergraduate in junior or senior year with plans to attend law school, or a current law student.
- Research Skills: Strong ability to conduct detailed legal research, especially in regulatory and technology contexts.
- Writing Skills: Demonstrated ability to write clear, well-organized op-eds, reports, and research summaries.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in reviewing data and synthesizing information from complex legal sources.
- Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication for documenting and presenting findings.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with team members and contribute to a positive, collaborative environment.
Additional Helpful (But Not Required) Qualifications:
- Previous experience in legal research or internships focused on technology or AI.
- Familiarity with AI technology, especially its applications in the legal sector.
- Understanding of legal tech trends and their impact on the legal industry.
