RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position will involve construction inspection, surveying, dam safety support, design, project management, and construction management.
  • Provide support to engineering staff for capital and operational projects.
  • Work under direction of engineers to perform engineering tasks including:
    • Civil Engineering Design
    • Construction oversight
    • Field construction/quality control project implementation
    • Other engineering related work as assigned
  • Must be:
    • Able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously, stay organized, and finish assigned tasks in a timely manner
    • Able to comprehend and interpret construction drawings
    • Punctual, flexible, willing to take on tasks to completion, and detail oriented
    • Able to work with groups and project teams, and have excellent verbal and written communication skill

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an engineering Bachelor's degree program with an expected graduation date between December 2025 to June 2027
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
  •  This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude

DETAILS & DURATION OF INTERNSHIP:

  • This internship will be reporting in person to Duluth, MN
  • This role is expected to begin May or June 2025
  • The internship will be full time during summer with the possibility of extending to part-time during academic terms up until graduation
  • ALLETE will comply with college requirements
  • Hours and duration are subject to change based on company needs.
