Travel Assistant
As a Travel Assistant intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting the logistics and coordination of travel-related activities for our organization. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in travel planning and management within the context of sports events and social development initiatives.
Possible Responsibilities:
- Assist in coordinating travel arrangements for staff, volunteers, and program participants attending football events, tournaments, and community outreach activities.
- Research and book transportation, accommodation, and other travel logistics, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
- Communicate with travel vendors, hotels, and transportation providers to confirm bookings, resolve issues, and ensure smooth execution of travel plans.
- Prepare travel itineraries, documentation, and necessary materials for participants, including visas, travel insurance, and emergency contact information.
- Provide support during travel, including airport transfers, check-in assistance, and coordination of on-site logistics.
- Maintain accurate records of travel expenses, receipts, and reimbursements, and assist with processing travel-related invoices and payments.
- Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of travel arrangements and providing feedback for improvement to enhance future travel experiences.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in hospitality management, tourism, business administration, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders and travel vendors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with travel booking platforms and software tools.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing travel schedules and last-minute adjustments.
- Passion for sports, particularly football, and a genuine interest in contributing to social development initiatives.

On-site Supervision and Support
Our internships include 24/7 on-site staff to support students working and living abroad. All students will also report to a supervisor at their internship site. Supervisors provide and oversee daily tasks, introduce the intern to team members, and mentor the intern in organizational agility, skill acquisition, and career readiness. Interns complete a midpoint and final evaluation, and supervisors complete a final evaluation of their interns. All work responsibilities and projects are approved in advance.
Academic Credit
Students on an internship have the opportunity to enroll in their home university for credit, or enroll in a course through API to transfer back to their university for credit. Email support-internships@apiexperience.com for more information and a syllabus.
