2025 Summer Intern - Process Engineering

Department Summary

 

Process Engineering is a integral part of Global Operations manufacturing technical support function. We work alongside our manufacturing partners to innovate, Optimize and enable high efficient processes in the production environment. We are also responsible for the design and continuous improvement of any production process, allowing creative thinking, problem solving and adding new technology to the site to be part of our roles.

 

This internship position is located in Tucson, on-site

 

The Opportunity

  • Learn the role of a Roche Process Engineer and assess existing processes and equipment and identify and implement improvements.
  • Lead and/or participate in equipment and process validations.
  • Assist in troubleshooting of processes and/or equipment issues.
  • Implement new or transferred manufacturing processes in a timely manner.
  • Learn how to operate in a GMP environment and effectively manage process changes
  • Assist in designing and implementing new equipment and tools to improve manufacturing efficiencies, reduce ergonomic stress, and improve quality.
  • Update, create and sustain Standard Work documents and update drawings using Pro/Engineer or SolidWorks.
  • Work as part of a project team in the development and/or implementation of new equipment and tools.
  • Technical support for daily production issues related to manufacturing equipment.

 

Program Highlights

  • Intensive 12-weeks full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
  • Program start dates are in May/June (Summer)
  • A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. 
  • Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.
  • Paired with a 1:1 mentor through the Roche Young Professionals  Business Resource Group

 

Who You Are

  • Required Education: Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student)
  • Required majors: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical or Chemical Engineering
  • GPA 3.0 or higher
  • Base knowledge of lean manufacturing, and or base knowledge of medical devices.
  • Student organization and/or study abroad experiences are a plus.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

The expected salary range for this position is based on the primary location of Tucson is $22-$28 hour.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
