The Northside Economic Opportunity Network’s (NEON) mission is to build wealth for low-to-moderate-income entrepreneurs in North Minneapolis and surrounding communities. Our vision is to transform North Minneapolis and the surrounding area into a prosperous, visible, sustainable, and highly diverse multi-cultural community of entrepreneurs. Wages & Benefits
$19.23 - $21.63 hourly; NEON is proud to offer an incredibly robust benefits package to employees. Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) starting at 18 days per year, plus ten paid holidays, two floating holidays and a seasonal paid office closure for a week at the end of the year; 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance for employees and their families; Health Savings Account (HSA) fully funded by NEON for individual or family coverage. There is employer paid basic life insurance with the option for additional coverage paid by the employee. The employer pays for Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) and short- and long-term disability insurance. NEON sponsors a retirement plan with 6% employer match plus a 2% employer contribution after one year of service and immediate vesting
A Typical Day in the Life…
A typical day as NEON’s Front Desk Assistant provides an opportunity to manage daily reception and administrative tasks, and will include the following:
- Greeting clients, visitors, and guests; determining the purpose of their visit and directing them to the appropriate location.
- Answering, screening, and directing phone calls; taking messages and scheduling appointments.
- Receiving and distributing mail, documents, and packages.
- Assisting clients with registration for NEON-sponsored events.
- Performing light cleaning and organizing of reception and community spaces.
- Maintaining filing systems.
- Retrieving information and preparing written summaries.
- Responding to administrative inquiries and scheduling appointments.
- Distributing agendas, schedules, and meeting minutes.
- Maintaining office supplies and ordering additional supplies as needed.
Who You Are
- You have a high school diploma or equivalent (required); an associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- You have at least two years of experience in a reception or administrative role.
- You are an excellent communicator, both verbal and written.
- You have outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- You have strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- You understand basic clerical procedures, including recordkeeping and filing.
- You can work independently with minimal supervision.
- You have a valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and can meet NEON’s driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit.
